i want to get an automatic motor and trans from this gen with the sport mode...does it really have paddle shifters...and can i use other b motors with the auto trans or do i have to make an adapter.

 

No, it does not.

Honda Automatics have never really been worth anything. Price-wise or performance-wise. Even the autos in the NSXs were nothing to write home about.

 

All auto 3rd gen preludes have the sport mode tranny. There are no paddle shifters, its just a button on the shifter that drops it from 4th into 3rd when in sport mode. A 5 speed will def be faster. No you cannot use other b-series engines with this tranny. You are basically stuck using a b20a or a b21.

There is absolutely no relation from the B20/21 series Prelude motors to the Civic/integra/del sol motors.

Period.

So with that answered, you are faced with swapping to the 5 speed and the H22/23 motors.
