Default Is an SI worth it?

Hey guy's I just have a quick question. I am in the market to buy a 99-00 Civic SI. Many of the SI's that I see have salvage title and it seems to me that people still go after them. My question is if an SI was in an accident (Minor) But got salvage title and was fixed right and look brand new, do you think you can re-sale the Slavage title Si because of accident for the same as SI with salvage from theft. I am putting this as they both look the same and etc... does it really make a diff? Thanks guy's just curious because I still see many people chasing the car even if there title is salvage.

This question is just too subjective. They car is worth what someone will pay for it-salvage title or not. No more. No less. The only problem in selling would be that the potential buyer will use this detail to try and knock you down in price. If people are "chasing" this car then that alone should tell you something.

If you have to ask, then no.

People who think paying extra for an EM1 is justified do so because they have a particular care for the car. The color, suspension, interior, etc.

There's no reason you couldn't buy junk yard parts from an Si and put them on a hatch and the car would probably perform better due to being lighter.

It is getting extremely hard to find an em1 with a clean title... Mine has a clean title but has been wrecked twice... lol. Nothing major that i can see, but I just got it. The salvage title will affect resale drastically. I paid $3,700 for mine and it needs quite a bit of work.. I probably got jipped, but oh well. I would rather have an in-tact SI, than a clone etc... Just stay away from any si's with swaps, unless you have someone knowledgable with you to make sure the swaps were done right. The first SI I looked at had an h22 swap and was complete garbage... Take your time and save up. You can find a nice unmolested SI for around $6000...

Bigger cities usually have a bigger import scene than podunk Tennessee towns. I look forward to the day that I can get out of here.

It more along the lines of them being up for sale. I think I've only seen 2 or 3 REAL EM1s in years.

So surprised of the rarity in the US. At any one time, i can go to the auto trader and find 5-6 em1 with no problem. I would say maybe 1/2 of them have a clean title here

What's Nascar? Never heard of it. I would pick up a salvage titled car if it's cheap and done right. It can be cheap or expensive BUT it has to be done correctly. Like if you put a clean title and a salvage title side by side, you wouldn't be able to tell the difference. I found one on craigslist or $4500 obo and all it says "it needs a lil work."

It's more or less worth it to some people just have to have a real EM1 rather than an EX converted to an Si.

I love my EM1. I'm proud to have a rust free, accident free, completely clean carfax EM1in pretty much excellent condition with all matching VINs ...err...except for the engine, which is a 00 spec ITR swap. I probably should have kept the original B16A2 for "value" purposes. Oh well.

The interior, suspension, and drivetrain things that are exclusive to the EM1 are a really "cool" factor.

Having a real Si vs. an EX with a swap is like having a real ITR vs. a GSR with a swap, you know?
