Whats up everyone...


I purchased a 2000 prelude auto. tranny with 155k miles for my sister with a messed up tranny. I found a guy selling a tranny from a wrecked prelude (200o with 75k miles). So i picked it up from him.

Me and my boy installed the tranny the other day with a new torque converter and I picked up some Honda auto. tranny fuild. Filled it up , turned the car on let it warm up and took it for a test drive.... Now here is the weird stuff thats happening.


After driving the car for about 2miles it starts acting up , shift's weird like its slipping and then it doesnt wanna change to a lower gear.... no reverse sometimes , trip-tronic doesnt work .I dont know much about automatic transmission .... but whats funny to me is that it shifts and drives smooth like butter for the first couple miles and then it starts acting up.





Is that a bad tranny over all... is there something else I can do to fix this problem. I need some help from you guy's. Thanks in advance

 

sounds like a torque converter issue, but i'm not very familiar with automatics

 

I'm not all that familiar with the Honda autos either. Might look at picking up a manual.

Did you (or do you have to?) pre-fill the torque converter before installing?

 

^ Im 99.9% sure I installed the torque converter right , and yes we did pre-filled it with fluid . I just got of the phone with a Honda Mechanic and they told me to clean of the 2 sensors on the front of the tranny. Black and brown plug sensors , to switch the left side sensors to the right .... and the right to left and to hope it will fix the problem.

So ill keep you updated to see what happen when I do that.

That sounds retarded to me , im going to mess with it today and see if anything changes . If not , this b!tch is going on craigslist for sale lol . I dont have the time or the money anymore to mess with this.
