Default kSkunk2 Cams breaking, anyone hear of this???

I just installed a set of the skunk2 stage 2 cams and they broke during installation. The car was never started and the crank had only been rotated 2 1/2 turns when we noticed that half the cam wasn't spinning. The intake cam had completely broke in half. These were brand new cams, everything was tightened in sequence, and torqued to the required specs. The only think I could think was that they came from a bad billet or the hardening process was done incorrectly. I was just wondering if anyone else has seen or heard of this happening, maybe skunk2 has shipped out a bad batch of cams. Please let me know what you think.

I've heard of Crowers breaking fairly easily, but never while you are installing them.

just be glad you didn't start it up. But call them on it for sure. They will be able to tell that they haven't been used yet.

You did lube up the lobes and everything, right?

New cams, of any make, that break during install are usually a result of user error of some sort. But, there is always a possiblity that you got a bad cam to start with. Call them and raise hell.

The cams did not break due to user error, they were properly lubed and installed by 2 certified technicians. I was there and watched the entire installtion process and everything was done by the book, to spec. I just got off the phone w/ group-a autosports and they said that 90% of the time it is an installation error, so I'm guessing that I'm one of the few 10% that just got a bad cam. They said to ship it back to them, they'll check it out and if that's the case they'll send me a new cam. They were really cool about it so I'm hoping I won't have to raise any hell and the situation is easily resolved.
