just look at what's in your car. see how it's a little bit wider on one side? just see how it is in your car.

top picture is RHD(cigarette lighter hole on the left)
bottom picture is LHD(cigarette light hole on the right)

 

personally im a smoker and i would think that the ashtray itself would be closer to the driver so the one with the ashtray on the left side is prolly for a lhd and the other is the jdm rhd

not a 100% on that but it makes sense
