Default Making a tubular bumper. What kind of tubing to use???

I have body kit and the stock bumper core. So right now the bumper cover is a hollow cavity. I want to make a bumper that is a frame that fills in the new larger bumper cover. Would roll cage tubing work well for this? Is it strong enough if the car gets into a wreck?
