Default D-SERIES MAP questions

Hey guys, long story short got a ref ticket and the court wants my B-series out, so I pulled it and am getting the original D15B7 lined up to be put back in. The thing is I didn't do the swap three years ago, so I'm finding the differences little-by-little. Everything straightforward so far, EXCEPT the map sensor. Because the state ref will be inspecting, I want to make sure I have it right.

On my OBD1 GSR, the MAP sensor is mounted on top of the throttle body. Apparently, on the OBD1 D15B7 it is mounted on the firewall and a vacuum hose goes from the TB to the MAP.

A) Is the MAP sensor that goes on the firewall the SAME unit as the throttle-mounted? Are there any differences between B/D series MAP sensors?

B) Are my connections to the P06 ECU any different than how they would have been connected to the P72?

Thanks for your help!

The map sensor will be mounted on the throttle body or firewall on EG's (it depends on KA or KL emissions and where car was manufactured ie: canada or ohio). They read manifold pressure and wiring is the same, however slightly different mounting design.

All pinouts are the same on OBD1 civic / integra ECU's. (you shouldn't have to change anything)

On the map sensor wiring, if your chassis came with a firewall mounted map sensor then the wiring for it will come off the CABIN harness near the passenger shock tower. The throttle body mounted map sensor has wiring that is part of the ENGINE wiring harness.

'92 - '93 D15B7s had a firewall mounted MAP sensor, '94 - '95 had a throttlebody mounted MAP sensor.

No, they work the same, but they are physically different. D and B use the same MAP sensor

Nope, same pinout.

Thanks for the help! I have a 93, mfg. in Canada for CA state emissions, so it makes sense that I have the standalone connector coming from the cabin harness.

Appreciate it...
