Transmission help for my 98 acura 2.3 cl
Hey guys I'm having problems with my tranny so i poured some lucas oil transmission fix as a last ditch effort anyway long story short i feel the transmission having problems and needing to be replaced soon.
I opted out of a rebuild because 1 its more expensive and 2 i read that most places don't even have the necesarry equipment to diagnose all the parts.
Anyway my question is which is the most reliable transmission i can put in this car? Even if its a manual i kinda actually want a manual instead. I also want a transmission with the lowest rpms in the last gear as i do alot of highway driving.
Also, i read on some other threads about the automatic transmissions needing an atf cooler, doesn't the radiator cool the transmission?? Even when i typed in atf cooler it looked like a regular radiator lol i dont get it.
Anyway thanks for the help.

I'm Having issues with my CL as well.
I did some research and found that it's pretty common in these cars to have trans issues.
I'm currently planning on using an accord tranny to swap in and rebuild the other while it's out. This can be very cost prohibitive though, and I may just do the rebuild if the new tranny fails.
I know you can't trust everything you read on wiki but, I found this article very informative:

I believe it may be possible to simply order the 3rd gear from honda/acura but not sure if it would be worth the cost/effort.
