1997 Accord Engine Dies
The engine on my car dies while driving down the highway. It will restart after I leave parked for 15 to 20 minutes. Sometimes it only shuts off briefly. The distributor has been replaced, coil has been checked while hot, and the ignition switch has been checked. The camshaft sensor is part of the distibutor. Fuel pressure has been checked. I am out of ideas as to what the problem might be.
honda had a recall on the accords for a ignition issue that would randomly turn the engine off and depending would come back on immediately or after some time passed. i know because i had mine recalled, and it would die while driving.
also, you need to replace/fix the main relay, its the one under the dash, really easy to get to and swap. google honda main relay issues, they get old and the soder connection goes bad and it will cause the car to not start from not turning the fuel pump on.

the relay is cheap and easy to do, thats what i would fix first then call honda about the recall. if i can find my paper ill scan it on here. if they try and say it never happened, ill have honda print my report showing the fix 5 years ago.
I picked up a new relay at the auto parts store and replaced the old one. I couldn't see anything wrong with the soldered connections on the old one, though. I hope the relay was the problem. Let me know if you find your paper work regarding the igniton switch recall.
