I started by replacing the fuel pump in my car. Afterwards, it did not start. I tried the old fuel pump, and no start then. The ACG fuse was blown, so I replaced it. It blew again. I followed the helpful guide here: http://techauto.awardspace.com/mainrelay.html . If I unplug the main relay the fuse won't blow. I don't have a spare main relay, so I can't try that. I tested the relay the best I could found here: http://autorepair.about.com/od/engin...nrelay_tst.htm I could here the relay working on steps 2 and 3 but I don't have a meter to test for step 4. Does anything else come to mind what might be the problem? I am ordering a main relay, it will be in tomorrow morning.
edit: you should buy a multimeter if you want to properly find the problem
but a more primitive way is:
use wire, unplug the main relay, and bridge terminal 5 to terminal 7 yourself
if doing this does not blow the acg fuse, and the fuel pump runs, then your relay is bad
edit 2: BUT if the fuse blows again, then you may have a short to ground on the power (yel/grn) wire going to the fuel pump. check that yel/grn wire by the pump

Thank you. Yes the fuse blew again without the relay. Thank god I didn't buy another already. There must be a short near the pump, since I just replaced it.
i'm pondering, i'm pretty sure theres a short somewhere on the ground side of the pump (if short to ground, shouldn't blow a fuse), or the pump is internally shorted itself. kinda hit a mental block, hopefully RonJ can help a bit

Honda doesn't carry just the connector itself, so its either junkyard or rigged.

Well, it wasn't short before the connector. I spliced both wires and held it to the pump and it works as it should, no fuses blown. This was before the connector, unplugged. This was with all existing wires and ground.
sorry to bump this thread back up. but..
my acg fuse keeping blowing as soon as i turn the key. with main fuel relay unplugged the fuse does not blow. would that mean my relay is bad? im going to unplug the fuel pump and plug the relay back in and check if the fuse still blows.
if anyone has any helpfull ideas i can try please let me know.
also to OP did you ever figure out this problem?

hello I seen threads all over with no answers when I had this issue bout month ago 3/18/13!! Okay so my acg fuse would blow as soon as I turn on , no start! I changed many things ecu, ignition cap rotor module, coil pak spark plug battery checked altenator, radio under hood/dash fuses... It is a short!!! That can make anyone loose there mind I even changed the fuel pump!!!! >>>> here's the RESULT N SOULTION N WAT WASSSSSS MY PROBLEM, my brother who was busy at the time finally looked at it, n he changed the fuel pump again NOT JUST THE PUMP LIKE I DID, the whole entire thing : turns out.... The was a short in the actual fuel pump ( no good) he changed it, looked me in the eyes as if ( I'm the snit) n bammm 3 weeks later my car as been running n no more acg fuse dying it took me ( a car clueless girl) 2 months to figure it out tears, frustration mental anger lol honda baby! N these acg fuses threads are all shitty n made me spend money here the pump cost me $40 after all I spent n did : hope it helps many ppl just change the entire fuel pump not just the pump pill!!! GOOOD luck my car 93 eg coupe 1.6
My car won't start, I put a new relay and nothing. ACG fuse is not blown. I tested the cables to the pump and there's never 12v when you turn the ignition, I noticed the relay is not doing that particular sound that clicks when the line is filled after i turn the key. I don't know If I am explaining myself well. Can anyone help me?
my acg fuse blows intermittently. I verified the codes I had to replace the o2 and speed sensors. I ran the car for three days and then the the car wouldn't start blown acg fuse again. Any help?
