I have a 00 GSR with aftermarket cheap alarm system that came with the car when I got it. The previous owner only had one FOB for the alarm and I am concerned this unit might fail me and I have no spare. I am considering replacing that system with a BNIB ACURA OEM Integra alarm system that I can get cheap with two new FOBs and two brains. Can someone tell me if this would be a good move? If the OEM system is good enough, I would prefer that to having to spend more $$ on something else. Since the car is already wired with the other alarm system, I figure it should be simple to "swap" the brains using the same connections already hooked to the current system.

 

The OEM alarm does not wire in like an aftermarket alarm, the plugs will not be the same anyway.

Your way better off getting a brand name aftermarket alarm.
