found a y8 longblock.... dont know wut to do

i bought a y8 longblock for 20 buxs today (bad crank) so you guys think i should fix it or just take out the head and swap it over my y7 block?? i heard y7 and y8 blocks are the same....

Swap cranks. Swap engines. Find an EX transmission and you're set.

They are, but I have always wondered if the pistons are the same. There is a compression ratio difference between these two motors. I'm not sure if it's the head or pistons or the combination of both that makes the compression ratios different.
