No and not without some work. All type-s models came with ATTS and manual transmissions, which uses a different block and tranny from either the manual or auto base models. There are a few who have done it with an adapter plate made for the Type-S/SH block to allow the use of a base model tranny, but I don't think anybody is doing it off-the-shelf, so you'd be on your own to have one fabbed up.

thanks your reply was very helpful. this doesnt seem do be a grey area for you i want to do an engine swap but i want to choose an automatic H22. if you were in my shoes which one of the H22's would you choose. the two with the highest power output is the SiR S-spec @ 220 & the Type S @ 217. do either one of these come automatic.

No they don't but you'd be better off with the SiR S-Spec as it wont need an adapter to let the trans bolt up.

Why put a good motor in a car to only use a crappy auto trans?

Already told you that they don't, Honda never mates auto transmissions to their top trim sport models. Just get a fkn manual.

i don't think you're going to get much help with this. nobody here is going to help you get a car that has a crappy transmission. we all know that it's going to die sooner or later.
