hi im having issues with my 02 civic i brought it to the mechanic he said that the car is sticking in 3rd gear and in 3rd gear it rpms all the way to 4500 that it could be a transmission issue, he said that the transmission could be on its way out or if im lucky it could be something else but that i need to take it to a place that specializes in tranny's.... i was wondering if anyone might have any ideas of what it could be? it has 90,000 miles its an automatic

Look like the transmission's slipping. The mileage on the tranmission very low and not sure it how it start to go bad. Probably not be treated properly. Gonna need to find a shop that can do rebuild tranny or just swap it.
