Default Oil tap for turbo from the head

I was thinking of tapping the head for my turbo feed. It would probably save me money in braided line.

My question here is has anyone done this? I have a b16a head and underneath the coolant neck there is a bronze allen screw at the bottom. Will enough pressure be seen if tapped there for the turbo?

Technically, you could do that, but it's only an extra 1-1.5feet from there to the oil press sensor on the back of the block....you wouldn't really save a lot of money on braided line.

The only thing is that is the VTEC oil gallery. It should work fine. My only concern is that the block would not be able to feed enogh volume, since that gallery is fed off a small port in the block, about 1/8" in diameter....but then again, that's about the same inner diameter of a -4an oil line, so it should be fine. that plug in the head is there for hooking up a test tool if VTEC is not working (to verify that oil pressure is present in the head). It's used in LSVtecs to pressurize the head for Vtec on the non-vtec bottom end.....

Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

Thanks, I just called a local shop and they said they've bee using it on a couple motors now. I just didn't want 30 fittings in the back of the block cluttering up by the oil filter.
