99 Accord LX 2.3l. I would like to change to a better muffler that helps will performance/gas mileage but still enjoy the quietness I already have in the car. I don't know if those stated requirements work together. Any suggestions.

apexi ws-2 axle back. great tone. great flow. very quiet.

 

I second that. I have the Apexi WS1 exhaust and when driving normal I can't even hear it with the windows up (almost as quiet as stock). And when you push the car hard it has a nice low tone but still not really loud.

 

Where do you buy it at?

To be honest idk where the best place to get a brand new one is. I got mine used off honda society from a member near by for $300.

My 2.5" custom exhaust piping welded to the Apexi WS2 muffler is nice and quiet. Perfect for DD.

 

Hey, how much did the custom 2.5" piping set you back and did you notice any considerable difference from the stock 2.25" piping of the apexi WS2?

 

The guy charge me like 250.00 for the 2.5" exhaust piping, installation, and welding. And yes, I gained quite some power with a 2.5" hi-flow cat.

 

Honestly, if you have the money just buy the full APEX'i WS2 CATBACK..

I have listened to axelback setups vs catbacks, and I favour the catback ANY DAY..
The quality of the APEX'i piping is also excellent..

 

well , i used a cheap version. i used a obx duel tip muffler and it gave the car a nice deep quiet tone. love it. even got one for the gsr crx. jus sayin--can2

 

I bought my 92 Accord with an ugly ricer exhaust. I am going to get a newer Civic Si OEM exhaust and have it welded onto the current exhaust's piping,
