so I just recently bought this car. it had a aftermarket radio in it but im not a fan of it so i went to put the one i had from my last car in. plugged it in and nothing, unplug and plug in old radio still nothing now.

here are the details.

1993 honda accord (so I dont think its anything with security)

i used the wire harness that was on mine since i took it out of my last car which was a 1991 accord (is this it?) but it plugged right in.

there was a random wire that came down from the back by the heater switches that was connected to the 12v constant. that didnt seem to affect anything i think it is for the back lights on the switches since those come on when ever they feel like it but not positive. i also can not see where it was connected to. (*i found out that this wire went to my hazard lights switch no clue why. it was there when i got the car*)

im completely lost right now so any help would be greatly appreciated

 

check the fuses?

 

no I thought of that right after i posted this and have not had a chance to yet but thanks for the reply

 

If the fuse is good, and there is power, but the radio still doesn't work. The next thing you should check is the ground.
