Will a 94 accord 2.2l auto tranny work on a 99 accord 2.3l
As the title states i need to replace a tranny in my 99 Accord, my question is will a 94 accord 2.2l auto tranny work on a 99 accord 2.3l they are both F-series engine so I wouldn't see why it would work. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Although both do share the same basic architecture they are different enough not to be a straight swap
The '90-'97 Accord Automatic conmections.
Electrical
-Speed Sensor(MPH)
-Shaft Sensors x2
-Shift Solenoids x 4
Mechanical
-Shifter Cable
-Throttle Valve Cable
The '98-'02 Accord Automatic connections
Electrical
-Shaft Sensor x 2
-Shift Solenoid x 4
-Oil Pressure Sensors x 2
-Oil Solenoids x 2
-Position Sensor(shifter) x1
Mechanical
-Shifter Cable
The ECU/TCU/ECM on the later Accord will be looking for signals from the Automatic. Unlike the 4th/5th gens the 6th gen monitors not only the mechanical(shaft sensors), but also the hydraulic operation of the AT.
If the later cars used a seperate TCU from the ECU/ECM then you may be able to use the earlier TCU in its place for shifting purposes.
The removal of the Throttle Valve cable is replaced with the elctro-hydraulic controls. Unless Honda used the same TB the TB would have to be replaced with one that fits, and has the provisions for the Throttle Valve cable.
Shaft sensors may or may not use the same signal.
You will need to install a right side cover with provisions for a shifter position sensor onto the F22 Accord trans. Or use an F22 Odyssey transmission(these used the shifter position sensor on the right cover).
The mechanical side would probably be fairly easy, its the electrical side that would need attending to.
Even if you were able to;
-use a TB that had the correct TPS/TPS output so as to use the Throttle Valve cable
-connect the shift solenoids
-connect the shaft sensors
-replace the oil solenoids with resistors to fool the ECM
You would still need to verify how the oil pressure sensors work. If they stay at a constant with the engine on that would be easy, but I doubt this is the case. You would need to mimic them to allow the TCU/ECM to correctly operate the shift solenoids.
Speed(MPH) sensor, I am not sure if the transmission still provides the speed sensor or if Honda changed this as well. In fact I'm not sure if the later AT only has a single shaft speed sensor with the normal speed(MPH) sensor, or if there are two shaft speed sensors and no speed sensor(MPH).
