h22 obd2 swap ecu
ok im doing an h22 swap in my 96 accord and i really want to keep it obd2 so i can pass inspection. ive done a lot of ressearch on this and havent come up with many options. im never gonna find an obd2 p13 and i dont know of any way to get around the immobilizer on the p5p/p5m. ive found some ppl saying that there is a way to disable the immobilizer, but no one is willing to say how. so my question is whats the difference between the poh (f22 vtec ecu) and the h22 ecu's? as far as i know both motors are very close, the main difference as far as i know is the dohc on the h22. can i get a POH ecu and put a h22 base map in it and run the car?
h22 redlines at 8200rpm ur stock accord is 6200 so u will not be able to run full potential. immobilizer from what l understand there are some ecu shop/ a certain guy(sorry cant think of name) that can remove this for a price. l think phearable or someone could do this. but if not done correct u will be sitting on the side of road. right now lm using my accord ecu on h22 runs fine but its a automatic ecu so probally lacking fuel mileage and tcu code is thrown and l cant run it further then 6200 rpm.
You also have an integrated TCU whereas the earlier models (94-95) had a separate TCU. You need to run the correct ECU/TCU for the motor to work properly.
so can you map any honda obd2 ecu... i know it can be done on other cars such as subarus with with just a speical cable and a lap top? and is the tcu just for the auto trans or is that for the 5 speed too?
Yes the TCU is only for automatic transmissions.

Those ECUs feature a reflashable onboard EEPROM chip, your ECU does not have that ability. Certain ECUs can be reflashed (the 06+ S2000 is one of those) in a similar fashion to the Subarus, most other OBDII system you have to run a piggy back for tuning.
so the accord ecu should run the h22 with out any cel but it wont be at the out put the h22 should be... so as long as i keep the motor mostly stock i should be able to run an obd1 p13 and swap in the accord ecu just to pass emissions.... is that correct? also will it be as simple as swaping the ecus or is there other wiring issuse i will run into from obd1 and obd2?
I have a 97 accord ex with obd2 h22a in. when i had my f22 ecu in all it did was flash the cel light at me because of a ghost random mis. in all cylnders. because of the aib or the butterflys that open additional runners in the intake manifold adding more aire than fuel tricking the ecu that its misfireing but its realy not. therefore it will dump alot of fuel into motor u WILL smell raw gas like i did and wont pass emmissons... U WIIIILLLL need a 38720-p13-a12 ecu from a 1996 prelude there not hard to find u just need to know where to look.... i get all my parts from canadian salvage yards and parts store for the odd thing like the ecu they seem to have everything all the time... just hard to comunicate sometimes when they speak french and have a canadian accent..
Ok so from what I gather
my 37820-p0h-l02 ecu non/Tcu vtech ecm (try to say that 5 times fast) is not chippable, so where I cannot remap it?
or can I open up a spare one, replace the chip, and capacitors while I’m in there and get it to perform better?
currently planning to follow these footsteps if it’ll work
