Default Newbie Question

Just got a Harbor Frieght wire feed from a friend. Not planning on doing anything too serious just maybe filling a couple holes and tacking a couple things together. My question is what wire should I be going with considering I will be working on primarily thin metal? Usually 16 gauge or less. I've done some reading and seems like there are all sorts of wire out there, flux-core, wire-core, stainless, .023-.045 the list goes on. Just a standard gas-less wire feed from HF. Any input would be helpful.

0.23 Solid Wire Er70s-2,3,or 6 with 75% Argon/25% Co2 will work good for what you want to do.

Yes, the contact tip must be the same size as the wire.
