Hey, I'm starting to experience a ticking noise coming from my car.
It's definitely coming from the motor and was wondering what could possibly
be the problem? FYI, it's a '97 prelude with 150k miles. Thanks for any help.

 

you probly need a valve adjustment ot your low on oil.

 

Yeah, I added some oil, but it's still making that ticking noise. Thanks for the input.

 

a noise could be caused by many things. l would start by the basics. spark plugs/wires/cap/rotor. spark plugs get worn they wont fire as well. also iridium plugs if they get wet wont fire anymore and make a noise. and valve adjustment probally needed as well depending on last time it was checked

Im no specialist, but if the ticking is constant my guess would be with the others and say its something with the valves. And i agree the first steps to trouble shooting would be fresh oil, spark plugs, wires, and a basic checkup.

 

LMAs are probably shot.
