Default CAN SOME1 HELP ME 91 ACCORD EX

ok i have a 91 honda accord ex that ive been drveing for 4 years now. for 3 of those great years my car had this annoying idle up and down whenever i was in park or netrual but when i shifted into drive it would idle fine.well i got tired of it and decide i was going to fix it and with sum looking online i decide it was iacv. i took off my iacv and cleand it with sum carb cleaner (it was black and a hose was plagd 2). i replaced the hose and put the iacv back on and it started rite up and started to do the same thing. so i gave up and drove to the store. when i got out of the store and tryd to start my car it had a hard time starting but started. i got back home and turnd my car off and then next day when i came out to tried to start it wouldnt start not even trying to turn over.so i figured it was a starter so i took out the starter and took it to my local auto parts store and had it tested. they said it was fine. from there i thought maybe i was a dingus and had a bad battery (ive been known to do dumber things) so i got out my tester and tested it and it was at 12.5v. so im wondering if its a realy or sumthing sum1 plez help me figure this out im stuck at my pearnts house til i can drive back home!HELP HELP ME PLEZ

Do you have a check engine light on?

You can check by turning the key to the on position. Does the check engine light stay on?

--

Something you did while removing the IACV messed your car up. Make sure the connector is back on. But, honestly, I'm not sure why the car would not start. Although, close to the IACV is your distributor cap and such. Make sure all of the wires, are plugged in. Check your fuses.

--

Otherwise, for the surging, in my experience, the IACV is less likely to cause surging than the fast idle thermal valve (FITV). On your Honda, this valve should be located to the right of the IACV, connected by a hose to the IACV, about 3 inches away. Open the cap with a phillips screw driver (there are three screws), and tighten the beeswax pellet thing with a flat head screwdriver and put the cap back on, and you're done - no more surging!

I hope you solve why your car doesn't start so that you can get to that FITV.

Is there any power in your car? Or is the car simply not cranking?

You need to check fuses, if anything.

As for checking for MILs or Check Engine light, if you do have power, turn your key to the On position, about 1 click clockwise. If when the check engine light goes on, it stays on, then you have a code, although the MIL isn't the most important thing in your situation.

Check fuses. If the engine cranks over but doesn't start, check to see whether your distributer cap is plugged in because you might have knocked it loose while messing with the IACV.
