proud of my z6 crx
took my rex to local test-n-tune car is 89 crx si mods = z6 swap, pw jdm intake, header and full exhaust, stage 1 clutch with 8.5lb flywheel, brand new street tires, completely gutted including pass seat, door mount seatbelts, rear wiper motor assemble and entire sunroof assemble. on thing on the inside is my seat, 1 race harness, dash, and lightweight battery. Of coarse all the PS and AC pumps and plumming gone. Never had it weighed but i would guess between 18-1900lbs. Track is 1/8th mile, conditions were great very sticky, and temp outside was only about 72-75. Best time i was able to lay down was 9.18@75, 2.005 60ft, with a 1.005 react. Not super fast but respectable for a single cam with only bolt ons. I was very impressed, last season was only able to manage a 9.91, new clutch and flywheel helps alot. Im gonna shoot for 8s this season i guess any suggestions on how to get there would be appreciated. Car is on coil overs but i have not done any suspension setups for drag so ideas there would be helpful to. Thanks and i can post pic of timeslip if anyone has doubts.
No im just on street tires nexen n3000 195/45/15s to be specific. i would love to have a set of slicks just dont have the money for them right now. But i do just a lil wheel hop to get the tires clean, not smokin them. I usually launch around 48-5200 and slippin the clutch. 1.966 is the fastest 60ft i've been able to pull

heat up the tires, even on street tires a little 2nd gear burn to put some heat in them helps.
my friend ran a 1.9 60ft in a 2400ish lbs eg-sedan and true street tires.
i ran a 2.0 60ft in a 2300ish lbs ej1 on streets and sloppy suspension.

thats weird cause evrything ive read says that doing a burnout on street tires just makes them slicker not saying thats true just what ive read but thats the reason i dont do one now. I just do a real quick wheels spin to get the dirt and rocks off the tires . is stiffing up the rear gonna help any without slicks?

That's all you want to do. Any more is just wasting the tire.
thats really good for a sohc on street tires. my 1900lb crx with me in it and a mildly built ls was running 9.0's on street tires (shitty passes) on slicks I had no problem running 8.40's get some slicks and dip into the 8's either way your doing really good man!
ya get some decent slicks for it and go out and have as much fun as you can. sometimes the simple setups are the ones that make you the happiest. (at least for me)
