96 vtec accord & 94 non v-tec swap is it possible
so my motor went bad on my 1994 accord non v-tec, i want to swap it out. but the car i found were ima get the motor from is a 1996 accord with v-tec. can i do the swap, will it work, and what other things do i have to change to make this possible
Yes, it'll work. You will need to convert it from external to internal coil though; since, the F22B1 comes internal coil. Then you'll need a OBD1 POA VTEC ECU for your '96 engine.
thanks. can i just take and use the ECU and internal coil from the accord im taking the motor out of?
No, they use a different engine management system. You need the correct one.
While you're at it, don't waste your time converting it into internal coil. They use a different sensor package inside the distributor (OBD1 vs OBD2). You need to use your OBD1 wiring harness, with your OBD1 distributor. Run the Vtec wires separate, there are only three. If you use the OBD2 Vtec harness it will be a nightmare.

As mentioned the TDC & CKP sensors that are located on the oil pump housing on the 96 F22B1/B2 will need to be addressed. As they are located in the distributor of the 94 F22B1/B2. And IIRC the distributors do not physically swap all that easily between OBD1 Non VTEC and VTEC. I don't think the OBD1 VTEC distributor works on the OBD2 VTEC head. I could be wrong though.
