#2 cylinder injector not shooting. ECU or Wire?
So the #2 injector is not shooting ANY fuel to my 87 honda accord LX-I.
Here is what I've done.
- Swapped the injector, didn't work.
- swapped wire 1 with wire 2 position. injector 2 worked.
- Checked the volts under a load on the wires... # 2 wire plug was constantly 12 volts, where as the others would fluxuate between 0 and 2...going up to around 4 volts when hitting the gas while in neutral.
- Resistor tested normal on all 4 prongs.
I'm guessing either it's a short between the resistor and the wire to the injector, or it's the ecu going bad.
What, and how should I trouble shoot next to narrow my options? I don't have a system checker harness, so it'd be easiest for me to trouble shoot anything outside the ecu first.
I appreciate your guys' knowledge and time.

Well sounds like you are down to checking the pins at the ecu (A1, A3, A5 and A7). What are you seeing at the connectors on the injector(s) across all cyl.
Sorry, don't check this part of the forum that often.

I appreciate the tip about the ECU. I can't seem to find where in the service manual the exact trouble shooting guide for ECU regarding the fuel injectors. I'd assume I'd be looking for specific voltages on all prongs with the engine On(III)? or ON (II)?
If it is coming from the ECU; I've heard of people able to rebuild/repair the ecu, would this be possible for this specific issue, or would I be better off buying a refurbished computer?
Also, if the ECU turns out ok, what would be the best way to go about looking for a short? Is there any specific "common" spots for shorts I should look for?
Thanks again!

On a different computer tonight, so I don't have the manuals handy. One of the reasons I asked about checking the other injectors is so you have a baseline of a working injector vs a non working one.
Then be sure to check the wire from the resistor to the injector to be sure there is not a short in that...as you already asked about.
I'll try to remember to bring the other computer home tomorrow.
