Car does not start, need help
so my buddy was driving my car the other day (civic 1.5l non-vtec) and the car suddenly stopped. he said he tried putting it in second to start it from a roll but it didn't work. so yesterday I took a look at it and the fuel pump is working, so i thought it was the distributor. When then changed out the distributor and it's still not starting. one of my buddy then said, it sounded like my timing belt/waterpump is probably broken.
This morning I tried calling my buddy but he's busy, so I called up midas to ask how much would it cost to change the timing belt and the water pump, the tech told me that when a timing belt goes off on a honda, usually the ended will have to be replace? WTF?? he said i could have possibly bend my valves and pistons...true?
I've dealt with honda for a very long time now but never with the timing belt, help me out here guys. Thanks in advance

Honda engines are "interference engines", meaning if valve timing goes off, [broken/skipped timing belt] the pistons can contact the valves, not always the case but your buddy trying to bump start the engine would increase the chances of contact, resulting in bent/damaged valves and piston tops.
You need to start by pulling the timing belt covers off and inspecting the belt is it intact, is valve timing still correct. 94

ALWAYS START WITH THE BASICS. CHECK FUEL AND SPARK. SOME OF THE HIGHER MILEAGE VEHICLES MAY HAVE A WORN ELECTRICAL PORTION OF THE IGNITION SWITCH WHICH IS USUALLY DETERMINED IF THE GUAGE WARNING LIGHTS STILL WORK. IF YOU JUST FILLED UP, I HAVE SEEN A LOT OF WATER IN THE FUEL THIS PAST MONTH. FUEL PRESSURE SHOULE BE AROUND 42 PSI. AND IF YOU HAVE NO SPARK, THE PROBLEM COULD BE THE TIMING BELT OR DEPENDING ON THE YEAR, THE DISTRIBUTOR IGNITER OR COIL. IF IT STALLED IN WET OR VERY HUMID CONDITIONS THEN DON'T OVERLOOK THE DISTRIBUTOR CAP. ONCE AGAIN DEPENDING ON THE YEAR. WAS THE DISTRIBUTOR REPLACED WITH A NEW ONE?
