Can the cover be removed from the passenger air bag?
I bought a black 95 interior and I'm putting in place of my 96 tan interior. The passenger side air bags have different plugs. Can I take the 8 bolts that hold the tan cover on the air bag and swap just that part out for the black, or is that instant death?
Thanks
Thanks
The cover is a part of the airbag assembly anyways, so no you would need to switch the whole thing. If you can't source one, just get an airbag delete tray, unless you really care about your passengers.
the cover does in fact come off the air bag assembly i do it a lot. we remove the air bag and just put the cover back in the dash to access fuse blocks from wire tucks so you could remove the covers and swap them
The cover does come off, remove the 8 bolts, remember how the "retainer strips' go back on, once removed carefully "peal" the cover off the air bag assembly, make sure it goes back on the same way, reinstall retainer strips and bolts and your done. 94
yep, just finished. i should have done all this before putting the black dash in, that bolt on the left side that holds the whole bag in is all but completely inaccessible. passenger air bag covers can definitely be removed safely.
