Use ELMSCAN 5 Compact USB scanner to interface OBD ECU
I've got an ELMSCAN 5 Compact USB scanner and I was wondering if I could use this to interface the OBD1 (chipped p75 ecu) thats now connected to the OBD2a harness in a Honda Odyssey 97.
My car is originally a Honda Oddy 97 with OBD2 engine and now has a Honda accord 94, 2.2cyl, 16 valve OBD1 engine swap (along with the Accord OBD1 ECU and TCU). I had to build my own OD2->OBD1 harness coverter to connect the OBD1 ECU and accord 94 TCU to the OBD2 engine harness.. So the EMS connector is still OBD2 (which is useless with an OBD1 ecu). Basically the OBD1 ecu is a chipped intergra p75 ECU with the ignition maps of a 94 Accord 2.2 non-Vtec Auto bin.
The Questions is: Has anyone found a way to rewire the oBD2 diagnostic port in and OBD2 car so that they can connect Elmscan 5 and at least read the sensors that are common to the OBD2 and OBD1 engines (upstream O2 sensor, MAP, TPS, IAT etc....).
I have no way of accessing the engine codes since the harness is still OBD2a and the car probably didn't come with the little blue plug under the passenger dash (which can be used to read OBD1 codes).
So is there a way to rewire the harness so that the Elmscan 5 can use the OBD2 diagnostic port and read the OBD1 p75 ECU?
Can someone point me to the right directions? Has it been done? Doable or not? Just and idea.
Thank you

An OBD2 scanner does not work on an OBD1 ECU. The protocol wasn't implemented in OBD1.
Use logging software for whatever your OBD1 ECU is chipped with or check out the TunerView display which supports the available OBD1 software.
