Okay Guys

I recently bought a 99 Honda Civic EX and I can't figure out the problem
The engine only stays on with the battery
I change the alternator but it does not keep the engine on when I remove the the battery cable.
I checked all the fuses and relays
so if you guys know what the problem probably is ....let me know

Has the alternator been tested? Checked cables?

 

Are you trying to remove the cables off the battery posts after you start it?

 

Check if there are any open connections. May be a wire from the subs touching the body of the car. A bad alternator. Check your spark plugs, are they rusty loose or covered with oil? Do you have an anti theft system or alarm that could be causing this?

 

it might be grounding out somewhere

 

if your tryin to remove the cables while the car is on theres... your problem of course its goin to turn off

 

Ya but the alternator not charging the battery

 

the alternator charges the battery through the positive cable... and if your tryin to disconnnect to main ground from the battery your at ris of causon a voltage spike and damaging the ecu... and possibly other components like sensors and relays
