Got nailed by a Mustang today!!
When going through a construction zone today, a driver ahead of me slammed on their brakes, bringing the entire line of traffic (moving at about 30-35MPH) to a standstill. A was able to stop to avoid hitting a Mazda MPV in front of me. But I got nailed by a green Mustang behind me. This sent me into the MPV, causing front end damage to my car. Luckily, nobody was hurt. And the B20 was not hurt, either. Since my car (1988 Civic STD) is probably worth alot less than the repair costs, I will probably just get a check from the Mustang driver's insurance company to replace my HB altogether.
That sucks dude. But at least it wasn't your fault, and you'll be getting the cash you need...
I think you should keep driving it all beat up like that. Just think, you'll have the ULTIMATE sleeper!!!!!

damn, same thing happend to me yesterday! my front bumper was pushed in slightly and my license plate was bent. There was a lifted dodge ram that barely missed me from behind
. No real damage to all 4 cars, so we all left it at that. My neck was a little sore this morning tho.

damn matt..maybe you should slap that b20 in a CRX HF?
that sucks to hear matt, good luck with whatever you decide to do
So does the mustang driver's insurance have to pay for your car and the car in front of you? I've seen cases were you would collect from the mustand driver, but then get blamed for rearending the car in front of you, even though you weren't in fault.
yea, and get another hatch

Mazda MPV - most likely zero percent, unless they did something funky to cause everyone to slam to a stop.
DigCiv - 20-30%, he did hit the MPV. The only case where it might be more is if he wasn't paying attention and stopped causing the accident.
Mustang - 70-80% - most likely ticket would be "Following too closely". And, since he was primarily at fault, he will end up paying for both repairs.
In a minor collision like this, the percentages really don't mean jack. If it was really serious (Fatalities, perm injuries, etc), then (presuming a lawsuit), both insurance companies would be named, and payouts would go according to percentage of responsibility.
Aodhan
Dig Civic shouldnt have any blame (0%) since he wouldnt have hit the MPV unless the mustang hit them. I had a jetta a few years back where I was just sitting behind a car and got rammed from behind. I hit the car in front of me too and dented it up. I never heard from that car's insurance company. The full blame will go on the mustang, and his insurance will pay 100%. If not, take them to court.
Well, the insurance company totalled out my car. They valued the car at about $1400 with a $150 salvage value. So they will give me $1250 and let me keep my car. But it is not as bad as it sounds. I can easily find a Civic HB for around $1500-$2000. And since my car had some pretty bad rust on it in the first place, I can probably find one in MUCH better condition. As for the Mustang driver, it was a 40-something woman. And yes, the car was a V6.
