Default Professional transmission diagnosis

I drive a '99 Honda Accord Ex and I plan to bring it into the dealer to have the transmission diagnosed. I'm curious as to how they will go about doing this. Is it all based on a test drive or is the car hooked up to diagnostic equipment?

Combination of things -

- test drive
- OBDII scanner
- physical inspection
- etc

Though if you have an Automatic and it is acting funky I would be prepared for them to tell you it needs to be replaced......

x2 on MuffinMan. Do a small bit of research on the "6th gen automatic transaxle failure rate." Its disgusting.
