Anyone able to wire some cheapo Ebay led strips to sync w/ the dome light? My lighting everywhere (cluster/dome/dash) is dangerously poor...

There's some info online, but nothing for our EKs...at least nothing an electrical noob can comprehend.

I don't know, but the dome light is only 7.5 or 10 amp IIRC.

 

Why don't you just get the LED lights that actually plug into the light socket instead of hacking wires?

 

he wants lights to sync WITH the dome light, not replace the dome light

run a relay on the dome light circuit so it controls led strips around the car

places to put led strips:

under the dash in the foot well
under the doors so they light up the ground
under the rear seat

and replace your dome light with an led bulb, and find the map light that they have for EKs

Do you have any idea (what color) the circuit is?
I just replaced the dome w/ an LED....not all that great though.

 

if you replaced it with only an "LED" that wont be enough of course,

or unless your talking about an LED cluster bulb, then you might have a shitty brand

but the color of the power wire you put the relay on is white/blue

comes from the under dash fuse box, i believe up the front driver side pillar and to the dome light, may be easier to splice into right under the dashboard
