pls help i have an 88 Si
Hey people, I got a real good deal on a 88 CRX Si shell and I'm trying to bring it back to life. I got a motor in it but I'm having a hard time trying to figure out the engine harness. The Si didn't come with an engine harness but I already have an 88 CRX DX that I'm using as a parts car. I plan to use the harness from the DX(convert to mpfi).
When I test fitted the harness there is a connector missing from the driver side. On the driver side from the car, I have the small plug with six wires and the 2 wires for the brake. Looks like I’m missing the big round plug. I Google pictures of harness and engine bays. Looks like all harness/engine bays I seen have that big round plug on driver side.
So is there something wrong with mine? I don’t see where it has been cut or tampered with. What is the plug for anyways? Thx for the time, Lo

you are not going to be able to make the DX engine harness work on the Si car - on the passenger side, the DX engine harness only has 2 connectors that plug into the chassis harness - the Si engine and chassis harnesses have 3 connectors at this location - at the driver's side, the 88 Si chassis harness should have a rectangular 6-wire connector to match the 88 Si engine harness - the Si engine harness also has the connector that plugs into the injector resistor box - the DX engine harness has a round 14-wire connector at this location and no connector for the resistor box
I have a 90' si engine harness that will work, not sure if the 88' has different plugs but all of the correct wiring is there. PM me for details but as stated before the DX is completely different and won't work.
