What country you from? F23A5 does not exist here in the US unless it's been imported. That F23A5 seems like a UKDM engine.

And yes, you'll need to use the F23 ECU to keep running like it should.

true. my sister has a VP with the F23A5. non-VTEC version of the F23A1.

which motor are you replacing? is it VTEC or non..? if it's the VTEC motor (F22B1) just think of it as replacing the short block. reuse the original wiring, sensors, manifolds... and ECU. the ECU won't know the difference. on the other hand, if it's the non-VTEC (F22B2) the manifolds won't swap over, but you should still be able to get most sensors to hook up just the same. it may take a little rewiring to get it right though.

If you where able to read, you would be able to see that he has yet to even install the motor.

Please make your own thread, no one will help you when you're hijacking someone's thread.

Chill out dude, asking an OP a question about his thread because it relates to what you are doing personally is hardly a thread jack.

@ gillis, hopefully the OP will chime in here soon, if not you could try PM'ing him regarding this topic to get his take on it.

Your tranny code is BAXA for Ohio. MAXA for Japan. 5 Speed P2A8.

I'm about to do this swap and have been searching for others who have done it. Not much out there. This link is about all I can find, specifically post #4 by Fireman142: 23 swap in f22 car?
The f23 block is a cheaper better choice in my opinion and is very easy to swap into the car. Everything bolts up, tranny and all. You need to swap the dizzy, egr valve, exhaust manifold, fuel rail, injectors, and look into getting an IAC valve adapter plate.
I think there's two ways to do the swap.
  1. Keep the F23 intake manifold, which is what Fireman 142 did, above.
  2. Use the F22 intake manifold.
From what I can tell, the F22 manifold bolts right up. But there's a power advantage to keeping the F23 manifold. To keep it, you need a 3-wire to 2-wire IACV adapter. BlackTrax sells one that seems to work but requires some grinding of the IACV. Rosko Racing also makes one that requires no grinding but I'm not positive it's for F-series manifolds, and an email to Rosko has got no response. Another option is to run the F23 manifold, block off the IACV holes, and just turn up the base idle.

It'd be helpful if the OP came back to say how it did the swap.
