Im finishing up a obd0 b16a swap it my 89 crx, the engine cranks, got fuel, but i have no spark. i had a spare ignitor and coil so i replace both. Still no spark and the ecu is now flashing code 1-6 i tried looking it up and all i come up with is fuel injectors. my question is can the main relay cause no spark? oh and i have power to the ecu and dizzy.

 

any ideas?

 

im going to say 99% no, on the main relay. it would turn over but you wouldnt get the pump to prime ie no fuel pressure. If you want to make sure, its under the far left driverside dash. Take the ciruit board out by bending the two outer sides out and look at the solder joints...if its cracked, you need a new one, if not, its something else.

also, if the CEL comes on for 2 seconds and shuts off, the main relay is good, if it doesnt come on at all at startup its bad.

 

so after doing a few more test i found that i have no power to the plug for the dizzy?

 

Sounds like a short somewhere. Check the wire harness very carefully. If you have a wire diagram, check for continuity from the dizzy to the computer. If no continuity, the wire is broken/shorted. If you have continuity then the comp is probably bad.

 

yeah im getting tired of checking all the wiring over and over im going to take it to a shop and have someone who knows what they are doing take a look at it.
