Default ZC DOHC sounds subaru

Hi everyone.

I got a problem with my car 2 days ago. I drive Civic EG5 with DOHC ZC. And now the problem is, my car sound's like subaru. And my engine is shaking aswell as the end of the muffler. I just notice it while driving, and as far as i know the power is still same.

And i notice this wire hanging around.

I already check and clean the Spark Plug wire and the distributor contact.

I need help to the expert out their.
Thanks in advance

That broken wire is the power wire for the coil.

It should be attached to one of the terminals on the coil (which obviously has been removed in the picture, the ring terminal that goes around the screw has broken, and would have been making poor contact resulting in some severe misfires.

i already check it now. It seems like it just a extra wire that turn around. And all wire is intact and theirs no slot for that wire... Do you know if it's still safe to run my car in that situation? Damn i dont want to spend hundreds of dollar on it. Thanks for your info bro

The ring terminal that's supposed to be on the end is broken off. The car isn't going to start without it. It would have been intermittently making contact with the terminal on the coil before and misfiring. Just get a new ring terminal and crimp it on.

I didn't see any loose terminal their sir. All wire is on it's place. And the car start without any problem. Just the engine shakes a little bit and sounds like subaru when accelerated, but idle is alright to. No engine check light.

I've had this problem before with my previous car(EF hatch). It turned out to be a bad fuel injector o-ring. But im not sure if it's the same problem. My car did lose power and the check engine light was on. I also had a strong fuel smell coming from the engine. But when this happened my car did sound like a subaru when accelerated but idled fine.

if the wiring isnt your problem and all things ignition check out, id guess burnt valve. ive had two d series engines burn a valve or two and sound like a wrx.

You can clearly see the ring terminal in question in the pics below:

Btw, it looks like the bearing in the distributor is going bad as well, I can see quite a bit of rust.

Yea i'm guessing that maybe the valve is already on it's way. all ignition already check and clean, i also try other leads to. But still no luck on it.

change all the internal bits inside the distributor and the result is it won't start put the engine is cranking. And put back again the original parts on it, and when i turn the key on, it's like it's gonna start but not, it seems like theirs not enough spark on it.

tryd another distributor "without msd" and it still sounds like subaru and rough idle "without engine check light on it". And put back again my distributor with msd and trowing code 4... Is it worth it to check the valve? Any expert out their willing to give some opinion or comments? Thx

Wait, you had an MSD coil (which totally explained the lack of a ring terminal) and never thought to tell anyone? Personally i'd tell you to run a stock Honda coil, MSD coils suck in Hondas

94EG8 sorry for late reply... Yea forgot to mention that the car is running MSD Coil. I bought it like that so i didn't touch anything since that.

So now. i also change the engine check light bulb. And change the internal bits in dissy last week. And i record a video after that. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cR21iAguPKA " Water bottle is just indicator to show how much vibrate on engine is".

Are you saying that you're running the stock coil now? Are you getting a CEL? Have you checked your timing?

Have you checked the cam timing? Get the motor to TDC, and make sure the cams are lined up. I bet you're off a tooth.

If the spark is good, then the timing must be off, or you have a problem internally. Have you done a compression or leakdown test?
