Ooops, accidentally snapped fuel rail bolt, now what?
Alright, My fuel rail has been bored out to fit Mustang Injectors. Everything was cool, unitl today I opted to get the 42# (441cc) injectors to replace the 30# (315cc)ones I've been using. Well the o-rings fit really tight in the fuel rail, so the best way to get them all the way in is bolt the fuel rail to the intake manifold. Well the bolt on the drivers side snapped in my JG Victor X manifold. Now what do I do?
is the bolt part of the JG manifold? or can it be backed out? if it can, go to a junkyard and find another bolt... my friend did the same thing with his STR Fuel rail and Venom Intake manifold...
I have a whole garage full of Honda bolts, I just need it out of the manifold so I can make sure the injectors seal ok. Because right now it's running like **** like that.
It's broken off below the deck height of the hole for the bolt. I found a way, you can buy crapsman kits from sears designed to get the bolt out.
go to the hardware store and get a "easy out". They are litle tapered bits with a reverse thread. On the package it will say what size drill bit to buy with the easy out. Then you have to drill a hole in the broken part of the bolt and then screw the easy out into the whole and back that bastard right out. I have been in the same situation, but with a head bolt and it was very easy to do.
Good Luck.

For future reference, don't install injectors that way. That's a good, easy way to **** up one or more of the o-rings. Clean the o-ring seats & the o-rings themselves, then lube them with some fuel, or whatever's handy. Make sure that they are securely in place before you bolt the rail down.
Thanks dude. Oh, you might want to know the situation first too. I use Mustang injectors, they fit very tightly in my bored out fuel rail. Usually you want the fuel rail to be touching the Imanifold before you even start to worry about toruqe. Easy out didn't work, gonna have to drill it out and helicoil it. Thanks for the suggestion though, I would have NEVER though of that.
