Default LOCKED OUT of 4th gear! HELP

hello fellow H-T'ers, i have been debating on whether to make this thread or not, but i just recieved some info that switched up my mind-set. i've searched for about 5 days now about my trans probem and noone seems to have the same issue as i, but on to the problem,
i had a b16 trans that recently took a crap on me, so i bought another b16 trans from a local forum "importatlanta"and long story short, i got shafted, the guy said he had a PERFECT b16 trans for 400 so i gave him the asking price, and come to find out, 3rd gear grinds upshifting around 4k rpm, and grinds really really bad downshifting. well of course its the synchros right? well thats an easy fix, so now im driving down the highway from work and i downshifted to 3rd gear at approx. 60mph and it grinds bad. it went in but the usual grind was worse, and it locked me in that gear. i pulled over and tried to put it in neutral. so it finally pulls loose with out that much force, and now i cant get into 4th gear at all. 4th gear wasnt a problem until i downshifted 3rd. car on/off, i still cant get into 4th gear. clutch is still in good shape, flywheel has a new surface plate, slave cylinder in good working order, and so is the MC. can anyone tell me if it could be the synchros still for 3rd gear and 4th gear? i talked to one of my buddies thats a honda-tech and he said my 4th gear is shot and the "locking collar" is shot, so im not doubting him but i was just trying to get a little more info on that. thanks honda-tech

You might want to check to see if your clutch is still good.

If you just went ahead and replaced the synchros, you would know if any of your gears are toast, if your shift forks are bent, or any other problems because you'd have to take the casing apart nonetheless.

I used to have a problem downshifting to second. I'd have to double clutch and/or rev match to downshift to second. I couldn't get it into gear for the life of me. I replaced all 5 synchros on the trans and now it's perfect.

In the future, please post to the proper forum. Integras never came with a B16 transmission, at least not in the US. You'd probably get more info in the Transmission forum.
