Default gsr distributor rotor removal

To remove the rotor of my distributor on my 00 gsr, do i have the turn the crank to line the screw with the hole on the rotor or something like that? When i went to remove it the first time, i could not figure out how the heck to get the rotor off.

the safest method i know to expose the rotor screw for removal is...

disconnect the battery
manually crank the motor with a 19mm through the driverside fender liner.

ive seen people short coils by cranking without the spark plug wires

another way is to mark the dizzy and the head with a marker, remove the dizzy and then remove the rotor, it will only go back in one way don't force it (when reinstalling the dizzy)

also, if you have a hard time removing the screw from the rotor, try some vice grip pliers. that was the only way i could get mine out. and the new rotor should come with a replacement screw
