i have a 91 civic si. stock headlights and all wiring is factory and not hacked at all. im having a problem with my headlights/dashlights not turning on. it started happening about a month or so ago. only a few times but lately its been every single time i try to turn on the lights. i dont think its the switch it seems to be a ground issue maybe. once i was leaving work and they wouldnt work but when i opened my door and shut it they came on. also if i drive for a bit sometimes theyll come on if i hit a bump. where are some grounds i should look for?

double check fuses first just to see if one is loose. check you battery terminals and make sure there all tight. double check all bulbs in your car as well. its one circuit so if one bulb is loose it could cause the issue. try those first and c what happens

 

do your turn signals and brake lights work consistantly?

 

turn signals..flashers..brake lights..dome light..all work. just no dash lights or headlights/parking lights. car starts and drives fine with no other electrical issues. started happening sometimes then last few days it got to where theyd come on randomly after i drove a lil. now nothing

 

these arent xmas lights. not sure how a bulb loose would cause ALL the lights to go out

 

fuses are good. diff headlight switch didnt fix it. i hate electrical

 

one wire on the back of the headlight switch plug has power. i jumped that wire to the wire that goes to the dash lights and they came on

 

just for the record, what color were those wires?

 

im going with dimmer switch
