Default I need help with my 88 Accord LX

she runs like crap when I start her up cold, misfires, sputters, you name it, but once shes warm and driving, shes smooth, doesnt like to idle but she does, a little sputter here and there, but driving down the highway at 2600 rpms she runs great. Im in the process of giving her a full tune up, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, but I need to know how to tune up the carb, wtf that little choke switch does and how to know if it works, just basically getting her to run good again, only 102K, clean but needs a lil love, doesnt burn coolant or anything, but the plugs I pulled out of there were crusted with white ****, looked like ash, but i just need to know how to get her to start up smooth, i know little to nothing about carbs.

ok so half the PCV valve fell down the tube into the breather chamber......do I need to spend a lot of time to take out that damn chamber to get that little piece out or can it just stay in there?

nope, the breather is not a plain box, the piece will sit in the goo on a 'shelf' inside it. hardly worth messing with on an old car.

That tune up may do the trick actually.

thats what Im hoping, everything im replacing besides the wires, plugs, cap and rotor havent been replaced in a looong time.

Heres another problem, the throttle actuator has been cut out of the vacuum system all together, dont know why yet I kinda dont want to rerun the lines and use it im assuming its broken thats why it was excluded. my car needs a lil tlc haha

I bought this car like this, and I know how the lines are supposed to run, but I just dont know why, Im new to carbs this is my first. Im thinking this is the reason my car is idling like crap.....
