Need help. Must drive today. Axle wont go in
I have never had this happen before. I have had plenty of axles not wanting to come out, but this time the driver's side axle does not want to go in. It's not a seal thing because I have not gotten to the seal yet. However, it must be seated to some degree because when I turn it the other axle turns the opposite direction. Any thoughts as to what may be blocking it? Comments are greatly appreciated.
Ok so with some brute strength and awkwardness, I got it in. But this confuses me... In the process the other side popped out. What the??? Short of begging here, I could use some good info. Thanks.
Why was the axle out, where did you get it, what year and model do you have vs what one did you order? Are you sure it has the correct spline count/diameter, correct axle side? Any pics of the axle in question?
AAAH! The drama continues. So I ripped out the driver’s side axle and got the passenger side back in. I’m confident it’s seated properly cause I heard/felt “snap” of the axles c-clip. Now I’m back to square one… the driver’s side won’t go in. I don’t feel like repeating this cycle again… :-)
Here are some facts:
Stock D15 with L3 cable trany.
Trany was out for clutch job.
Same old stock axles going back in.
