ECU Fail.. PAA-L74 Swap Question
I have a 2000 Accord 2D auto. The ECU took a crap and I purchased a replacement but need immobilizer code. Can I unsolder the IMMO from my old ECU and install in into the doner ECU? Has anyone ver done this? I dont see why it would not work but dont want to take a chance of trashing the doner. Both ECU's are the same part number.
Take it to the dealer. They can cut IMMO keys. The ECU has a serial number, which thanks to theft prevention practice, corresponds to a VIN, which they have the code for. Bring your receipt for the ECU and I'm sure they will be able to program your keys accordingly. Unless it's stolen.
The key is not the problem. Even if I have the dealer cut a key they would still need to reflash the ECU for install into my Accord. I have the keys and the IMMO code is stored inside the Failed ECU. The replacement ECU from a doner vehicle has the old vehicles info stored on it. I want to know if I can unsolder and swap the IMMO circuit board?
