Default Import racer documentary for National Geographic...

The National Geographic Channel is producing a documentary special around the Import racing culture. They are looking for top import racers residing in the Los Angelas area who are interested in possibly participating in this special. If you'd like to be considered for this documentary, please send the following to: kim@hoggardfilms.com

1) Short bio describing yourself, background, and your involvement with the sport
2) Picture of you and your car
3) If possible, a short youtube video bio of you and your car

*this is not related to the other reality one.

Is it on track racing, street racing, or just imports in general?

track, but feel free to email her and find out, kim@hoggardfilms.com

Supposedly they have the green light to go into production within the next two weeks. She was already in talks with Mr. Parks, but looking for more.

there direction is uncertain. i was interviewed yesterday.

seems there more interested in the underground scene here in socal. but i really encouraged them to follow the racing scene in general. it would put drag racing in the spot light again. well see how it goes the next couple weeks.

I guess it would be nice to have someone with some intelligence explain that street racing is so big b/c there are no open tracks to race. But im sure crushing cars brings in more money than the tracks.

thats what im feeling it mite be like.. i dont want to have some ricer promote the import world. more people need to contact them and try and persuade them to go more toward the competing part of the import race world. i sure they did a **** ton of filming on high power v8's. its a new generation why not shows the new power of the new generation.

Fixed for you Lisa.

I'm guessing they'll go with the street racing side. IMO the average person flipping channels would rather live vicariously through a street racer than a legal racer.

will have a meeting here next week. for some reason we cant show the raw real deal version of our industry. i will decline the offer. i have already done one with nat geo recently. kinda ironic that another independent film hired by nat geo wants to do another. mmm.

so its just gunna be a look into import racing in just cali? too bad they shold take a few other stops around the country. not saying LA is not one of the best places but the south and north east have aspects that LA can not touch. hope they reveal the diffrent areas and not just whats around them. ive found bieng in cali that the emissions there have stopped alot of the people from bieng to involved in the whole import racing era...

They should get a hold of the Jerry Built crew for street and track coverage.

What about the the guy's at http://www.nyce1s.com/home.html

They have done filming of some great racing.

I also agree, this program should be taking place in the Northeast. I'm sure Mr. Parks knows, Englishtown is where the current history is being made. They should be showing what's currently available for the younger kids or other adults, lets face it, who watches the National Geo. channel anyway's.

IMO if they show street racing, that's not good for anybody.

MTV did it, and I dont think it affected anything, IIRC it was a long time ago and the cars on the street have come a long way since then... im not much of a fan of street racing but documentary's need to include the bad with the good.

i agree...

they should include both the street scene and what's happening on the legal races...

Im sure some of you too roots back on the streets and eventually gone safer and crossover to the legal races.

It's a good point for the documentary to show factors that affects why people is street racing and why people cross from it to legal races.

I hope this docu will push thru.

i beleive it was True Life:I'm a street racer....is that the one you are talking about?

In all reality i agree with the guys about showing the transformation from street racing to legal and legitimate racing. I wish they could cover all of the scenes as well, LA, The south, and northeast.
