TB for y7-> y8 IM swap
OK I have read about swapping the y8 IM onto a y7. I don't have questions on that nor on the IAC. I want to know why the shaft parts have to be changed on the TB? all manual IM's
I have an HX coupe (had the y8 intake on the y5). It will have a y7 in it. I don't have any of the y5 but throttle cable still in car.
Can someone explain why the parts the throttle cable attaches to has to be changed. The only difference anyone has posted on the cable is that the y8 is shorter.

Since you once had a y8 im on the car and the throttle cable is still on the car then you do not have to change anything. I put a y8IM on a d16a6 on an obd-1 del sol and the only issues were the IAT (no issue for you) the throttle cable (I had a throttle cable for a b7 in the car-had to swap it for a y8)
Here's a link that I used a year ago when I did that setup, hope it answers ur question.
