Fueling issues - car cutting off when pressing gas pedal (LONG)
http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c1...F/c4d905ba.mp4
C5 swap in ef:
The first couple of times I tried to rev it in this video, it just loses power when it goes over 3k - even though I'm pressing the gas pedal. *
Then it finally just decides to rev normally at the end?
I already checked the injectors and ecu, spark, plugs I changed 7k miles ago. Brk7e11 *
I guess I'll double check the fuel pump, filter, and the fuel pressure is stable. 51psi with vac line off
I'm thinking maybe a vacuum line thats on the vacuum canister to itb's or something...

Oh yeah, and when I give it a bit of gas to try and hold at 3k rpm, the fuel pressure drops a bit and the rpms start going up and down. Now I'm leaning towards clogged fuel filter or bad fuel pump. *
I went ahead and replaced the fuel filter with one from pep boys (purolator) and limped the car home. That helped from what I could tell.
I had an autox coming up so to be safe I replaced the fuel pump with a walbro 255 lph unit.
Well that fuxed up my static fuel pressure, so I adjusted it via my sard fpr.
Then I got a stalling stumbling cutting off motor on the way to autox. I thought I ran out of gas even though the gauge showed 1/8 tank.
Well I filled up halfway and then still had the same problem with the fuel pressure being off.
I adjusted it and drove the event. The car stalled one time again on my last runs and I had to monkey with the fuel pressure throughout the event. When I'd adjust it up to 51 static, then the next run I'd see it was too high, so I'd lower it to 51 static and the next time I'd check it, it would be too low - almost like the fuel filter was inhibiting flow or making fuel delivery to the rail inconsistent?
I'm pissed off now bc I've replaced the fuel filter and fuel pump and still am having a similar issue.
Also, I noticed after the autox that the fuel pump while it was loud and whining before, now it sounds like a grinding machine gun noise when priming... The walbro in my 240sx doesn't make this grinding noise.

Is it possible I got a bad fuel pump?

Ya I checked the tps plug connection as well as the adjustment screws. All good.
I'll confirm the voltage again next time I look at the car.

After doing some thinking about this, the problem is more than likely because I didn't get the sock to lay flat and/or the pump dying.* A google search reveals some instances of walbro pumps being so so while other people swear by them.
I'll open it back up this weekend and check it out.
I'm really thinking about just running a pickup sock on high pressure neoprene tubing in the tank, and switching to an external Bosch 040 for peace of mind and ease of changing pumps.
