96 accord brakes killin me
I'm at a loss with these brakes it's a 96 accord lx non abs has all good pads and shoes has great fluid no fluid leaks have tried 2 new master cylinders and bench bled both until all air was removed. When bleeding the system you feel pressure on all corners and it has good fluid flow doesn't spit. I've bleed every wheel 12 times before moving on to the next with someone else assisting with the pumping. When you bleed it the pedal drops about half an inch and that's all the pedal travel there is when holding it down. Doesn't have much travel period. Builds decent pedal but when you start it the pedal goes straight to the floor. Any ideas appreciated. Car has been parked for a month due to the issues.
Have you adjusted the plungers on the brake booster/MC during those installs?
In addition to that have you been replacing it with an OEM MC or a rebuilt one?

So you're buying an aftermarket unit that isn't at OEM specs and haven't bother adjusting the plunger to verify it is at OEM spec. I would start with that.
The OEM BMC is only like $120 from Majestic Honda and the plunger adjustment is freeeeeeee provided you have a Helms document detailing how to do it.

What is the history? Meaning, why are you replacing the master in the first place? Is it because of this symptom? Or, was the master just bad but now you have a new symtom which you are currently describing?
Also, when you say the pedal goes down a half an inch when bleeding do you mean the pedal only moves a half an inch with a bleeder screw open? Or, are you saying the pedal is nice and hard ( only moves half an inch ) with the bleeders closed and engine off?

Blessed closed engine off they pump it up and hold it I open bleeder they said it's only dropping around half and inch. The reason for replacing mc is because of same issue pretty much the car has never really had great brakes I've owned it 6 years and decided I'd try and solve the "weak brake pedal" issue

Thats just hondas. Every accord I've ever driven has a mushy *** brake pedal.
Make sure your drums are properly adjusted at well, that will have an effect. But otherwise, if it isn't busted don't worry about it.

As a side note, I have heard of rebuilt ones having issues where the rubber seals allow fluid to leak back up into the MC. For $120 you get a brand new OEM Honda one, it may be worthwhile to get that?
