I searched and did not find a definitive answer or pool of ideas on a work around. The truck taps the hardtop and I just had my car re-painted. What did some of the H-T replica hardtop owners do for that fitment issue? I've heard ideas of rubber stoppers but has anyone seen a mock-up thread on this site or elsewhere? Sorry if this has been touched on before but I could not find a thread...

 

Do you mean the trunk touches the base of the hard top? Did you push down on the back of the hardtop first? Then, tighten down the brackets?

For myself, I extended the rubber stoppers from the stock location.

 

Yes, I pushed it down. What exactly do you mean you say extended the rubber stoppers from the stock location? Maybe it's a little too early in the a.m. for me... smh.
