i've decided to sell my thermal catback for $200 plus a PS2 and some games and controllers. haha, now i'm going to get a custom straight pipe made since i'll be running honda-challenge with this car.

should i have it dump out infront of the rear passenger side tire? or should it go from the header straight out the back. going right under the gas tank and out the middle of the rear?

also, should i go w/ 2.25 or 2.5". i'll be getting cams soon, so i'm gonna say 2.5".

just wondering what ya'lls thoughts are

On my 91 hatch i dumped it in front of the passenger side tire. When i would be out racing i would always try to line up on the left side. The noise isnt loud inside the car but it causes a disturbance to the person your racing. They usually wont be able to hear there engine. So it could help you out a little.

 

it's got a b16 swap, w/ 4-1 header and intake for now. gutted, rollcage, all the racing goodies.

 

My rally car dumps out the back, on the right side, and cut a hole in my bumper for pipe to poke out. Strait pipe is still LOAD out the back, cant hear the engine at all.

 

any other thoughts, comments, ideas?

 

2.5 outlet should be fine. make sure its not one of those ghetto mexican exhaust places where there are hard kinks in the piping. either that or you can buy piping from APEXi that comes 2.5" im not sure how much it is.

 

na, i'm probably gonna get it 2.5" crush bent (not crimp bent like you're talkin' about) since there's very few bends that need to be made

 

i would do a straight pipe going right off the header, and dump it towards the ground in front of the gas tank. then earplugs and a warning sticker on the car.

You thought that it was loud before witht the straight pipe...cant wait to hear it if you dump it out the fender well. I hope that you can find a mechanic that will pass you...if not then i might be able to hook you up. See you sat. dude.

its going to get annoying!!!and u going to hate it everntually... put at least a resonator.... thats my two cents....

btw.. get a 2.5" if it goes all the way to the back.... or 2.25 if u letting it come out the rear pasanger tire....
