hey guys, i have a 1990 crx, with 228 thousand miles, lately the idle has been lumpy so i followed the honda-tech diy, took off the iacv, sprayed the inside with brake cleaner, then put it back on making sure the gasket was intake and bolts put on tight to prevent leaks.

i started the car, car started and died, checked and i forgot to plug in the power connector to the iacv, plugged it back in and started the car idled fun for 3 minutes then all of a sudden a humming sound started coming from the motor and my idle is now even lumpier, the sound is mostly defined in the intake, if i drive or rev the motor the sound goes away but then comes back right after during idle.

any ideas?

Did you unhook the battery after sending no single from the iacv to the ecu? or pull the hazard fuse to reset the ecu

 

yes i did unhook the negative battery, ill try it again. where is the hazard fuse?

did tou do the fix for the fast idle as well?

 

Did you replace the small filter and the o-ring gasket when you did your clean out?
